Job summary

Family Dollar is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support daily store operations, deliver friendly customer service, and develop the store team.

You will assist with opening/closing, merchandise flow, payroll, scheduling, loss prevention, and policy adherence while keeping the store clean, safe, and welcoming for customers and staff.

This hands-on role requires a proactive leader who can balance priorities and drive results in a fast-paced retail setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills required.
• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs. and perform physical store tasks as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Provide excellent customer service and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed, ensuring cash handling accuracy.
• Process directives and maintain compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Support in payroll, scheduling, and loss prevention efforts.
