Qualifications

• Certificate of completion from an accredited Respiratory Care Program (CAAHEP).
• Credential by the National Board for Respiratory Care as CRT or RRT.
• State of Iowa Respiratory Care Practitioner license.
• BLS for the Healthcare Provider certified or obtained within three months of hire.
• Proof of Mandatory Reporter abuse training within three months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs inhaled medication therapy and arterial puncture per physician orders.
• Conducts blood gas analysis and pulmonary function testing as needed.
• Operates and troubleshoots respiratory care equipment and ventilatory support.
• Participates in CPR, airway management, and patient transport as required.
• Maintains accurate records and documents procedures and results.
