Job summary

MercyOne Northeast Iowa is seeking a Respiratory Therapist after completing the program to assess patients and determine appropriate therapies. The role covers administration, monitoring, and collaboration with clinicians across age groups from neonates to geriatrics.

Responsibilities include performing therapies, equipment management, patient education, and accurate record keeping. This is a part-time, rotating-shift, PRN position at MercyOne Waterloo Medical Center.

Qualifications

• Must have completed the first year in an accredited respiratory therapy program and be currently enrolled.
• Intermediate language, intermediate math, intermediate reasoning ability; personal computer proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Performs inhaled medication therapy and ventilatory support as ordered.
• Participates in CPR and airway management.
• Assembles and troubleshoots Respiratory Care equipment.
• Interprets diagnostic results and documents medical records.
• Provides patient instruction on respiratory care devices.
