Qualifications

• Certificate of completion from an accredited Respiratory Care Program.
• Credential by NBRC as Certified or Registered Respiratory Therapist.
• State license to practice in Iowa.
• BLS competency within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform inhaled medication therapy and arterial blood gas analysis.
• Operate and troubleshoot respiratory care equipment and ventilators.
• Provide patient education on device use and therapies.
• Respond to emergencies and assist intubations as needed.
• Document care and maintain medical records.

CAAHEP-accredited Respiratory Care Program

RRT or CRT credential

Iowa Respiratory Care Practitioner license
