Coast Guard Exchange in Novato, CA seeks a Part Time Residential Manager to oversee a 14-room hotel, 6 two-bedroom duplex units, and 4 RV lots. You’ll manage staff, monetary receipts, and guest registrations while ensuring safety and service standards.

The role requires hospitality leadership, budgeting, and strong cash handling skills, with a focus on guest satisfaction for military families.

Qualifications

• Three years' experience in hospitality, business administration or relevant experience.
• Strong understanding of hotel management best practices and data entry software.
• Demonstrates professional knowledge of sales, cash handling, and personnel procedures.
• Experience working with a diverse group of employees and supervisory experience.
• Effective communication, both orally and in writing.
• Knowledge of Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and mentor workforce in all positions to include desk clerks and housekeepers.
• Ensure Cash Handling Procedures and Credit Card compliance is observed at all times.
• Collect payments and maintain records of budgets, funds, and expenses.
• Monitor employee performance and conduct regular evaluations to help improve customer service.
• Provide outstanding customer service to our military members and families.
• Resolve issues regarding hotel services, amenities, and policies.
• Inspect hotel for safety issues and equipment failures and ensure work orders are processed in a timely manner.
• Create and apply a marketing strategy to promote the hotel's services and amenities.
• Evaluate hotel performance and ensure compliance with health and safety rules.
• Partake in financial activities including establishing room rates, setting budgets, and assigning funds to departments
• Ensure employees are fully trained in fire safety and fire extinguisher use including scheduling refresher training twice a year.
