Job summary

USCG Base Cape Cod MWR is seeking a part-time Residential Manager to oversee a multi-unit hotel and related lodging facilities in Novato, CA. The role includes supervising desk staff and housekeepers, managing guest registrations, handling payments, and enforcing cash procedures.

You will develop marketing strategies, monitor safety and compliance, and coordinate budgets and staff training to ensure high-quality service for military members and families.

Qualifications

• Three years’ experience in hospitality, business administration or relevant experience.
• Strong understanding of hotel management best practices and data entry software.
• Demonstrates professional knowledge of sales, cash handling, and personnel procedures.
• Experience working with a diverse group of employees and supervisory experience.
• Required to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
• Knowledge of computer programs such as Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily hotel operations and supervise desk clerks and housekeepers.
• Ensure cash handling procedures and credit card compliance at all times.
• Maintain records of budgets, funds, and expenses; collect payments.
• Monitor staff performance and conduct regular evaluations to improve service.
• Provide outstanding customer service to military members and families.
• Resolve issues regarding hotel services, amenities and policies.
• Inspect hotel for safety and equipment issues; process work orders timely.
• Create and implement marketing strategies to promote the hotel’s services.
• Evaluate hotel performance and ensure health and safety compliance.
• Manage room rates, budgets, and departmental funding allocations.
• Ensure staff training in fire safety and emergency procedures.
