Responsibilities

  • Oversee and mentor workforce in all positions to include desk clerks and housekeepers.
  • Ensure Cash Handling Procedures and Credit Card compliance is observed at all times.
  • Collect payments and maintain records of budgets, funds, and expenses.
  • Monitor employee performance and conduct regular evaluations to help improve customer service.
  • Provide outstanding customer service to our military members and families.
  • Resolve issues regarding hotel services, amenities, and policies.
  • Inspect hotel for safety issues and equipment failures and ensure work orders are processed in a timely manner.
  • Create and apply a marketing strategy to promote the hotel's services and amenities.
  • Evaluate hotel performance and ensure compliance with health and safety rules.
  • Partake in financial activities including establishing room rates, setting budgets, and assigning funds to departments
  • Ensure employees are fully trained in fire safety and fire extinguisher use including scheduling refresher training twice a year.

DUTIES

Incumbent will operate directly under the supervision of the MWR Director and oversee day to day activities to include operation of a 14-room hotel, 6 two bedrooms, 2 three-bedroom duplex units, and 4 RV lots. Maintains computer registration system for all guests billeted, collects money and issues receipts for all spaces rented. Manages personnel and records. Responsible for hiring, training, evaluation, and discipline of hotel staff.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and mentor workforce in all positions to include desk clerks and housekeepers.
  • Ensure Cash Handling Procedures and Credit Card compliance is observed at all times.
  • Collect payments and maintain records of budgets, funds, and expenses.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
Minimum

1. Three years' experience in hospitality, business administration or relevant experience.

2. Strong understanding of hotel management best practices and data entry software.

3. Demonstrates professional knowledge of sales, cash handling, and personnel procedures.

4. Experience working with a diverse group of employees and supervisory experience.

5. Required to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

6. Knowledge of computer programs such as excel, word, and outlook.

Preferred (in addition to the minimum)
  • Four years' experience in a supervisory position at a lodging/hospitality operation, with at least 2 years of management or supervisory experience as a first level supervisor.
  • A Certified Hotel/Hospitality Administrator designation or certification.
  • Bilingual – English and Spanish
