Hong Kong Metropolitan University (HKMU) invites applications for a part-time Research Assistant I (Project No: R6929) in the School of Education and Languages. The appointee will support the project on Lexical Convergence Among Yue Dialects through literature reviews, fieldwork and data analysis, under the supervision of the Principal Investigator.

++Major Duties and Responsibilities++

The appointee will assist the Principal Investigator for the Research Project “Lexical Convergence Among Yue Dialects: A Quantitative Study”. The appointee will be responsible mainly for the following:

• Conducting literature reviews;
• Conducting fieldwork;
• Providing assistance in data analysis;
• Providing assistance in preparing reports and presentations; and
• Performing any other duties as assigned by principal investigator.

• A Master’s degree in Chinese language, linguistics, or a related discipline;
• Solid knowledge of Chinese dialectology; and
