Job summary

Physicians East, P.A. is seeking a part-time QEC Pre-Procedure Screening Nurse for remote work in the United States.

You will review patient charts, perform pre-procedure screening, and coordinate with care teams to ensure proper evaluation and preparation for ASC procedures. Ideal candidates are Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse with critical care or endoscopy experience, with strong clinical judgment, typing and computer skills, and the ability to manage stress in a home-office

Qualifications

• Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse with critical care or endoscopy experience.
• Strong critical thinking and clinical judgment.
• Typing and computer skills to document EMR notes accurately.
• Good eye/ear coordination for accurate chart review and communication.
• Ability to work under stress while maintaining compliance.

Responsibilities

• Review patient charts prior to scheduling to determine appropriateness for procedures.
• Identify medical conditions, medications, or factors requiring additional review or clearance.
• Obtain and review outside medical records, test results, or clearance documentation as needed.
• Identify patients who may need referral to an alternative level of care.
• Complete pre-admission calls with patients to obtain and verify medical history, medications, allergies, and anesthesia history; educate on pre-procedure instructions.
• Accurately document all chart reviews, patient assessments, and recommendations in the EMR.
• Communicate identified concerns to physicians and staff for further evaluation.
• Maintain knowledge of procedures performed, pre-admission requirements, anesthesia guidelines, and center policies.
