Job summary

Mid-South Endoscopy Center seeks a PRN Admitting and PACU Registered Nurse to support a Monday–Friday as-needed schedule. You will perform pre-procedure assessments, prepare patients, monitor during and after procedures, and coordinate peri-procedural care for GI endoscopy patients (EGD and colonoscopy).

Responsibilities include IV access, sedation per orders, post-procedure recovery evaluation, patient education, and precise documentation while collaborating with gastroenterology and anesthesia

Qualifications

• Current RN license.
• Experience with pre-/post-procedure assessments.
• Ability to administer medications and moderate sedation per orders.
• Strong documentation and patient education skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-procedure assessments and obtain patient history.
• Prepare patients for endoscopic procedures and establish IV access.
• Monitor vital signs and oxygenation before, during, and after procedures.
• Administer medications and moderate sedation per physician orders.
• Recognize and respond to complications or changes in patient condition.
• Provide post-procedure recovery care and discharge readiness.
• Educate patients and families on procedures, care, and follow-up.
• Maintain accurate documentation and collaborate with the healthcare team.
