Job summary

Ascend Staffing in Abilene, Texas is hiring two part-time recruiters for our newest branch. This is a great chance for college students to gain hands-on experience in recruiting, HR, business, sales, customer service, or operations while balancing class schedules.

As a Part-Time Recruiter, you’ll connect local job seekers with opportunities, assist with recruiting and onboarding, and support the branch team in delivering a positive candidate and client experience.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in college or interested in gaining professional recruiting experience.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Comfortable communicating by phone, text, email, and in person.
• Dependable, organized, and able to handle multiple tasks.
• Professional attitude and willingness to learn.
• Basic computer skills and ability to learn new software.
• Ability to work approximately 25 hours per week, typically around 5 hours per day.

Responsibilities

• Recruit and communicate with candidates for available job opportunities.
• Review applications and resumes to identify potential candidates.
• Conduct phone screenings and assist with candidate interviews.
• Contact applicants by phone, text, and email regarding opportunities and next steps.
• Assist candidates with applications, onboarding paperwork, and required documentation.
• Maintain accurate candidate information in company systems.
• Assist with scheduling interviews, orientations, and placements.
• Provide friendly and professional service to applicants and employees.
• Support local recruiting efforts and branch activities.
• Assist with general administrative tasks as needed.

No staffing industry experience is required. We’re looking for motivated, dependable students who are eager to learn, communicate well, and enjoy working with people.

What You’ll Do

What We’re Looking For

Required

• Currently enrolled in college or interested in gaining professional recruiting and business experience
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Comfortable speaking with people by phone, text, email, and in person
• Dependable, organized, and able to manage multiple tasks
• Professional attitude and willingness to learn
• Basic computer skills and comfort learning new software
• Ability to work approximately 25 hours per week, typically around 5 hours per day between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM

Preferred

• Customer service, sales, recruiting, administrative, retail, or campus leadership experience
• Interest in human resources, business, marketing, management, communications, or a related field
• Experience working in a fast-paced or team-oriented environment
