Job summary

The City of Newberry is seeking an enthusiastic and dependable Program Assistant to support recreation programs, youth activities, athletic leagues, camps, and community events at Champions Park. This hands-on role focuses on creating safe, engaging experiences for participants and assisting with day-to-day operations of city recreation programs and facilities.

Ideal candidates enjoy working with children and families, support athletes and visitors, and help programs run smoothly.

Qualifications

• Valid Florida Driver's License is required.
• Flexible part-time schedule including weekends, evenings, and holidays is required.
• Experience with youth, recreation programs, camps, athletics, or customer service is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support planning, coordination, and delivery of recreation programs, youth activities, athletic leagues, camps, and events.
• Provide safe, welcoming, and engaging environments and top-notch customer service to participants, families, coaches, officials, and the public.
• Assist with facility operations, event setup, equipment management, opening/closing duties, and space maintenance.
