Job summary

The City of New Albany is seeking an energetic individual to coordinate quality recreational and leisure programs and activities as well as special events. This part-time position supports serving the community with well-organized programs and events.

The role requires strong planning, communication, and teamwork skills to deliver inclusive services, maintain safety, and ensure successful program outcomes across city facilities and outdoor venues.

Qualifications

• High school graduation or equivalency; 2-year college degree preferred and/or 2 years of recreation experience.
• Proficient computer skills including word processing and social media marketing.
• Must have valid Indiana Driver's License.
• Current CPR/AED/First Aid certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the planning, implementation and evaluation of overall parks and recreation programs, including camps, sports leagues, enrichment field trips, and special events.
• Address public questions and concerns regarding recreation program offerings and related issues.
• Promote collaborative efforts with community organizations.
• Instruct and lead recreation programs and activities as required.
• Maintain a safe recreational environment for participants.
• Coordinate use of program area facilities and schedule reservations; file permits and forms as needed.
