Job description

Are you passionate about creating memorable experiences for youth and building vibrant community connections? The City is looking for an energetic and organized Recreation Coordinator to bring our parks, programs, and events to life! In this role, you'll help shape year-round youth activities, community programs, and special events that make our city a great place to play and live.

• Prepares and coordinates a wide variety of youth-focused public events, classes, and activities, and performs all associated planning and operational tasks necessary to ensure all programs and events are successful.
• Reviews program areas implements changes or new programs to meet recreational needs of the community
• Provides day-to-day support and guidance to part-time staff in the City's after-school and summer play days programs
• Performs a variety of clerical activities in support of office operations, which may include entering information into databases, cashiering, answering phones, filing, maintaining calendars of events, and/or performing other related activities
• Registers participants for programs, receives program fees, makes change, and balances cash drawer, prepares bank deposits. Maintains accurate records of registration, participation, and revenues and expenses in written report form
• Maintains and facilitates facility rentals for the Recreation Department, ensuring smooth scheduling, communication, and customer service for all park and community spaces.
• Effectively resolves grievances and errors; performs or assists subordinates in performing duties; Communicates problems and/or concerns to supervisor
• Ability to assist in marketing events for public through flyers, press releases, social media, and City website
