Job summary

United Ground Express is hiring for an on-site baggage handler at Palm Springs, CA. The role involves lifting heavy baggage, operating ground support equipment, and ensuring readiness of aircraft for the next flight. Strong English communication and the ability to work outdoors in all weather are required.

Responsibilities include loading/unloading, cleaning aircraft interiors, and adhering to FAA and company safety policies. Flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays, may be necessary.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English fluently.
• Must be at least 18 years old and legally eligible to work in the United States.
• Must possess a valid state driver’s license with acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Lift baggage, boxes, or cargo up to 70 lbs throughout shifts.
• Push/pull loaded and empty carts during loading/unloading operations.
• Ascend/descend jet-way stairs while carrying baggage.
• Drive ground equipment to assist aircraft operations.
• Clean interior of aircraft and service lavatories.
• Read and interpret load sheets, baggage tags, and cargo labels.
