Job summary

United Ground Express is seeking a fueled team member for airport baggage handling and aircraft servicing. The role involves lifting, loading, and moving baggage and cargo while complying with FAA regulations.

Applicants must be 18+, hold a valid state driver’s license, and obtain airport credentials. Pre-employment checks including drug screening and background checks are required. You will work outdoors in variable weather, supporting aircraft operations at the airport.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must possess a valid state-issued driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• Must acquire and maintain credentials vital for the position including fingerprint clearance, local airport badging, and background check.
• Successful completion of pre-employment process which may include; drug screen, hearing and vision check.

Responsibilities

• Lift baggage, boxes, or cargo weighing up to 70 lbs throughout your shift.
• May require lifting over 100 items for a single aircraft.
• Push/pull loaded and empty bags carts during loading/unloading operations.
• Ascend/descend jet-way stairs while carrying baggage.
• Bend/stoop and crawl to move and stack/unstack cargo in aircraft.
• Drive ground equipment such as tugs, belt loaders, and bag carts.
• Clean the interior of the aircraft and service lavatories.
• Read and interpret aircraft load sheets, baggage tags, and cargo labels.
• Prep and secure the aircraft for the next flight.
• Ensure compliance with United and FAA regulations.
• Use radio devices to communicate with co-workers or flight crew.
• Work outdoors in all temperatures and weather conditions.
