Job summary

United Ground Express, Inc. is seeking airport cargo handlers at SRQ Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport. Duties include lifting baggage up to 70 lbs, operating ground support equipment, and preparing aircraft for the next flight.

Use radios to communicate with crew and teammates while working outdoors in all weather conditions. Candidates must be 18+, hold a valid US driver's license, and obtain airport credentials including fingerprint clearance.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Must have a valid state driver's license with clean record.
• Must obtain airport credentialing including fingerprint clearance and badge.
• Pre-employment checks including drug screen, hearing and vision tests may apply.
• Must be able to work any shift including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Must read, write and understand English fluently.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 70 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Lift baggage, boxes or cargo up to 70 lbs throughout shift.
• Push/pull carts during loading/unloading operations.
• Ascend/descend jet-way stairs while carrying baggage.
• Drive ground equipment such as tugs and belt loaders.
• Clean interior of aircraft and service lavatories.
• Read load sheets and baggage/cargo labels.
• Prepare aircraft for next flight and ensure FAA compliance.
• Communicate with co-workers or flight crew via radio devices.
• Work outdoors in all temperatures and weather conditions.
