Job summary

Sierra Railroad Company is hiring for a part-time Building & Grounds Maintenance role in Fort Bragg, CA. The position supports depot facilities, trains, and events with cleaning, grounds upkeep, and light maintenance.

Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays is required. The role emphasizes reliability, teamwork, and safety, with duties spanning cleaning, painting, minor repairs, and event setup across railroad properties.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; must be 18+ years old.
• Pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check required.
• Valid and current driver's license.
• 1+ years of related experience.
• Skilled at use of basic hand and power tools.
• Skilled at building and assembling materials.
• Painting and woodworking skills preferred.
• Good customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• General janitorial duties at depot and on trains, including cleaning, sanitizing, trash removal, and washing railcars and locomotives.
• Landscaping and outdoor upkeep around properties and guest areas.
• Minor maintenance and repairs at depot, grounds, and on board trains, including painting and fixture replacement.
• Safely use janitorial supplies and small tools and equipment.
• Ensure proper use of PPE and maintain clean, organized workspace.
• Assist with setup and takedown for events and decorations.
• Support safety and comfort of passengers and staff.
