Job summary

MorningStar Senior Living in Colorado Springs is seeking a QMAP/Caregiver for a part-time PM shift. This role administers and documents medications per physician orders, with adherence to five rights, and supports residents in daily care activities within a compassionate team.

The candidate should have CO QMAP certification, a high school diploma, and preferred healthcare experience in assisted living or memory care, plus monthly in-service training. Benefits include health, 401k, and more.

Qualifications

• License/Certification: state approved Medication Administration training; First Aid as required by ALF regulations; QMAP in CO.
• Education/Experience: Minimum high school diploma or equivalent; health-care experience in Assisted Living or Memory Care preferred.
• Continuing Education: attend monthly in-service education and training within the community.
• Other: must read/write English; good communication; follow written and oral directions; demonstrate good judgement.
• Job Knowledge: medication administration and universal precautions.
• Industry Experience: minimum three years in senior living preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administer and document regularly prescribed medications per MAR and physician orders.
• Order meds from pharmacy 7 days prior to running out and ensure delivery; notify Wellness Director if not received.
• Document medications given in resident's medical record after administration.
• Observe and report medication reactions or side effects to licensed nurse.
• Take and record vital signs prior to meds as ordered.
• Report any medication errors immediately to the Wellness Director.
• Keep medication cart secure, stocked, and locked; carry cart key at all times.
• Assist with development/review of resident care plans with other disciplines.
• Ensure resident privacy, respect, and dignity.
• Detect and report unsafe conditions potentially harming residents.
• Assist with daily care tasks (toileting, grooming, bathing, feeding, dressing, etc.).
