Job summary

The Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction – Allen/Oakwood Correctional Institution is hiring a board-eligible or board-certified psychiatrist to work part-time on site in Lima, Ohio. You will treat a male patient caseload as part of a multidisciplinary behavioral health team with clinical support from leadership, while following state policies and ACA standards.

Schedule is weekdays with no nights or holidays; duties include exams, evaluations, medication management, and referrals,

Qualifications

• Board-eligible or board-certified psychiatrist to work part-time on site.
• Treat a caseload of male patients alongside a psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner as part of a multidisciplinary treatment team.
• Clinical support from a central advanced practice provider leadership team, including state psychiatry director and assistant state psychiatry director.

Responsibilities

• Work with intra- and interdepartmental staff to administer treatment for behavioral health patients using an electronic health record system.
• Conduct exams and write evaluations and reports.
• Order and interpret diagnostic testing.
• Manage medication.
• Make referrals for specialized care or treatment.
• Perform duties in accordance with scope of practice, ODRC policies, procedures, and ACA standards.
• Participate in continuous quality improvement meetings and peer reviews.
• Provide or share on-call duties as needed.
