Job summary

The Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction (ODRC) is seeking a board-eligible or board-certified psychiatrist to work full-time on site at the Allen-Oakwood Correctional Institution in Lima, Ohio. You will treat a male patient caseload within a multidisciplinary team and have clinical support from leadership teams.

Schedule is weekdays with no nights or major holidays; flexible based on operational needs.

Qualifications

• Active Ohio medical license
• Board-eligible or board-certified in psychiatry
• Experience in behavioral health within correctional settings is preferred

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with intra- and interdepartmental staff to administer behavioral health treatment per national standards and document in EHR
• Conduct exams and write evaluations and reports
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests
• Manage medications for patients
• Make referrals for specialized care or treatment
• Follow scope of practice and agency policies; participate in quality improvement activities
• Provide on-call coverage as needed without extra compensation
• Engage in collaborative agreements as needed
