Job summary

Alvin College is seeking an Adjunct, Process Technology Instructor to provide classroom and hands-on instruction across process technology areas, connecting theory with real-world industry practice. This is a part-time pool with a maximum 19 hours per week.

Responsibilities include delivering course content, evaluating student performance, maintaining records, promoting safety and workforce readiness, and adhering to college policies. Travel to main campus and offsite locations may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or higher degree in Engineering or Associate’s degree in Process Technology or equivalent.
• Five years of non-teaching chemical plant work experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide classroom, laboratory, and hands-on instruction in Process Technology using current industry practices.
• Develop and deliver course content in accordance with approved curriculum and outcomes.
• Demonstrate operation, monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintenance concepts for process equipment.
• Emphasize safety, environmental awareness, and regulatory compliance in instruction.
• Evaluate student performance via assignments, exams, and labs.
• Maintain attendance, grades, and course documentation per deadlines.
• Promote professionalism, teamwork, and workforce readiness among students.
