Job summary

Yay Lunch in Princeton, NJ is seeking a hands-on Prep Cook to keep the kitchen stocked and production moving. You support the Lead Cook with mise en place, label and stage finished product, and help pack orders for delivery.

This is a fast-paced role requiring attention to detail, reliability, and teamwork. The position may include delivery duties with a valid driver’s license. Hours are 9am–3pm, 30 hours weekly.

Qualifications

• Experience in a kitchen or food production environment.
• Strong attention to detail for labeling, staging, and portioning.
• Reliable and self-directed with initiative.
• Team player who supports others in a fast-paced kitchen.
• Comfortable on the road if delivery is part of the role; valid driver’s license.
• Food handler certification or willingness to obtain within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Assist Lead Cook with mise en place, washing, chopping, weighing, and portioning ingredients.
• Label and stage items with date, quantity, and use-by information.
• Pack orders for delivery and ensure correct quantities and labeling.
• Load and transport products for delivery if required, maintaining temperature.
• Clean as you go and participate in end-of-shift kitchen breakdown.
