Job summary

Surgical Specialists at Princeton is seeking a part-time Pre-Admission Registered Nurse to coordinate preoperative assessment, teaching, and orders for surgical patients. This role ensures safety and quality care, with responsibilities spanning patient history review, labs, and preadmission education.

The RN must be licensed in New Jersey, hold BLS and ACLS, and bring strong communication and organizational skills to a team focused on high-quality ambulatory care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing.
• Active RN license in the state.
• BLS and ACLS Required, PALS if required by the center.
• 2 years of experience in Pre Admission and/or PreOp preferred.
• Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment.
• Able to prioritize and organize workload to meet patient needs.
• Strong communication skills, verbal and written.

Responsibilities

• Contact patients prior to surgery to assess medical and medication history.
• Review for appropriate lab, x-ray, EKG orders to determine scheduling.
• Provide preadmission teaching and implement physician orders.
• Ensure continuity and quality nursing care with ongoing evaluation of patient condition.
• Maintain patient safety, comfort and privacy at all times.
