Job summary

Surgical Specialists at Princeton is seeking a part-time Pre-Admission Registered Nurse to organize and direct activities in line with nursing standards and guidelines. The role includes preadmission evaluation, teaching, and coordinating orders for surgery to ensure patient safety and quality care.

You must be a graduate of an accredited RN program with an active NJ RN license, BLS and ACLS (PALS if required).

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing.
• Active RN license in the state.
• BLS and ACLS Required, PALS if required by the center.
• 2 years of experience in Pre Admission and/or PreOp preferred.
• Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment.
• Able to prioritize and organize workload to meet the needs of patients and the unit.
• Strong communication skills, verbal and written.

Responsibilities

• The Pre-Admission has the responsibility for organizing and directing activities in accordance with nursing standards, JC, Medicare and all other applicable federal, state and local guidelines.
• Contact patients prior to surgery to assess medical and medication history, review orders, and provide preadmission teaching.
• Responsible for implementing physician orders and ensuring continuity and quality nursing care for all patients with continual evaluation of the patient’s condition.
