Job summary

Surgical Specialists at Princeton is seeking a part-time Pre-Admission Registered Nurse. The role involves coordinating preoperative assessments, teaching patients, and ensuring orders are implemented with strict adherence to JC and Medicare guidelines.

The ideal candidate is a graduate of an accredited RN program, holds an active RN license in New Jersey, and possesses BLS/ACLS certification (PALS if required).

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN school.
• Active RN license in the state.
• BLS and ACLS required; PALS if required by the center.
• 2 years of experience in Pre Admission and/or PreOp preferred.
• Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment.
• Able to prioritize and organize workload to meet patient needs.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Contact patients prior to surgery to assess medical and medication history.
• Review lab, x-ray, EKG orders to determine timing and completion.
• Provide preadmission teaching and ensure physician orders are implemented.
• Provide continuity and quality nursing care with ongoing evaluation of patient condition.
• Ensure patient safety, comfort and privacy at all times.
