The Ventura County Community College District (VCCCD) is accepting applications on an on-going basis for part-time instructors in this discipline at Oxnard, Moorpark, and Ventura colleges. This pool will be kept on file for the Summer 2026, Fall 2026, and Spring 2027 semesters and may be considered if a vacancy becomes available.

Qualifications

• Master’s in political science, government, or international relations (or equivalent).
• Bachelor’s in any of the above fields and Master’s in economics, history, public administration, social science, sociology, or ethnic studies, JD, or LL.B.
• Equivalent qualifications acceptable or credential as per CCCD guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Provide academic instruction through lecture, lab, or performance courses.
• Advise and instruct students regarding programs of study and resources.
• Observe and evaluate student performance and provide timely feedback.
• Plan and organize instruction according to approved course outlines and outcomes.
• Maintain current records of enrollment, attendance, progress, and outcomes; submit data and reports.
• Evaluate and select instructional materials and ensure timely delivery.
• Revise and update course content in line with new theory and industry developments.
• Update syllabi and assess measurable outcomes with faculty collaboration.
• May participate in curriculum development and committee work.

Education

Master’s in political science, government, or international relations

Bachelor’s in political science, government, or international relations

Master’s in economics, history, public administration, social science, sociology, or ethnic studies

Juris Doctor Degree (J.D.) or Legum Baccalaureus (LL.B.)
