Job summary

BioLife is seeking a part-time Phlebotomist in the Corpus Christi area to collect plasma donations and support plasma center operations. You will handle donor screening and phlebotomy, ensuring high-quality service and safety during every donation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Ability to walk or stand for the entire work shift is required.
• Evenings, weekends, and holidays work availability is expected.
• Ability to lift up to 5 lbs, and occasional lifting of materials up to 32 lbs and rarely 50 lbs.
• Fine motor coordination, depth perception, and hearing from equipment are needed.
• Potential exposure to bloodborne pathogens; gloves are frequently worn.
• 1+ years minimum experience in a customer or patient facing role is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Greet donors as they enter and exit the donor floor.
• Perform venipuncture and programming of plasmapheresis machines.
• Monitor donors during donation and manage reactions.
• Setup, verify, operate, and troubleshoot plasmapheresis equipment per training scope.
• Install, prime, and disconnect disposable sets on plasmapheresis machines.
• Stock supplies, break down cartons, and assist with disposal.
• Record donor measurements and enter data into the Donor Information System (DIS).
• Coordinate donors to the donor floor and compensate donors using the Debit Card system.
• Support center management in identifying operational improvements (5S, Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen).
