Job summary

BioLife in Houston, TX is seeking a part-time plasma donor screener and phlebotomy support to contribute to Plasma Center operations. You will screen donors, collect vital signs, document records, and coordinate donor compensation while working a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities include donor screening, charting, safety checks, and supporting center operations with a focus on quality customer service and reliability.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to walk and/or stand for the entire work shift.
• Will work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to lean, bend, stoop, crouch, and reach above shoulders and below knees.
• Ability to lift to 5 lbs., and occasional lifting of materials up to 32 lbs. and rarely 50 lbs.
• Fine motor coordination, depth perception, and ability to hear equipment from a distance.
• Prolonged glove wear due to exposure to bloodborne pathogens (risk level 1).
• 1+ years in a customer or patient-facing role is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Answer phones, greet donors, and focus on donor safety and service.
• Screen new and repeat donors and record donor vitals and finger stick results.
• Use the Donor Information System, prepare donor charts, maintain records, and coordinate donor compensation.
• Identify opportunities for center process improvements and implement approved changes.
• Work varied shifts, including Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays.
