Job summary

Cherokee Indian Hospital Authority is seeking a Part-Time Phlebotomist to collect blood samples from pediatric and adult patients for laboratory testing, and to receive and organize samples from outside locations for processing.

The role requires phlebotomy program completion, certification (or within 12 months of hire), and adherence to safety and confidentiality policies in a busy CIHA lab environment.

Qualifications

• Requires a diploma or certificate of completion from a phlebotomy program.
• Certification in phlebotomy (ASCP) or other equivalent body, or applicant must obtain certification within 12 months of hire date.
• Student(s) enrolled in a phlebotomy program during their clinical rotation at the CIHA laboratory would be eligible for hire prior to graduation.

Responsibilities

• Collects blood samples from pediatric and adult patients for laboratory testing.
• Receives blood samples and other fluids for laboratory processing and testing.
• Maintains phlebotomy log-sheet and prepares workload reports.
• Keeps collection area clean and restocked and follows safety and infection control procedures.
