Northwestern Medicine in Deerfield is seeking a part-time phlebotomist for a 24-hour-per-week site-based role. The schedule is Monday 8am–2pm, Tuesday 11am–3pm, Wednesday 8am–2pm, Thursday 11am–3pm, and Friday 8am–12pm, at a client site in Deerfield.

The phlebotomist will perform venipuncture, process specimens, enter orders, and support lab operations while providing excellent patient service. Applicants should have a high school diploma or equivalent and phlebotomy certification (or CMA) and

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Phlebotomy certification through a nationally recognized organization or CMA certification.
• One year of phlebotomy experience in a healthcare setting or CMA certification.

Responsibilities

• Performs phlebotomy and other lab specimen collections per age-related standards and in accordance with department policies.
• Demonstrates AIDET model and improves patient safety to reduce errors.
• Receives and reviews physician orders; enters orders for lab tests per department procedures.
• Maintains patient communication and provides post-phlebotomy care.
• Processes specimens promptly: labeling, centrifuging, aliquoting, freezing, and transport.
