Job summary

Shields HealthCare is seeking a per diem Pre/Post RN in Medford, MA for a part-time role in an ambulatory surgery setting. You will provide comprehensive surgical nursing care, lead and collaborate with physicians and care teams, and support patient and family needs throughout the perioperative period.

Qualifications

• Completion of at least two years of nursing education is required.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing is preferred.
• Minimum of one year in Ambulatory Surgery, Outpatient Surgery, Recovery Room, or Medical/Surgical Nursing.
• Massachusetts nursing license currently held and in good standing.

Responsibilities

• Promote and maintain a positive peri-operative care environment.
• Participate in staff and department meetings; engage in continuing education.
• Provide direct and indirect nursing care using the nursing process.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care within the surgical/medical plan.
• Ensure patient safety and comfort by following policies and best practices.
• Coordinate care and communicate effectively with patients and caregivers.
• Assist with precepting new staff and supporting team collaboration.
