Southwest Virginia Community College (SWCC) is seeking a PT Payroll Specialist to handle biweekly payrolls for adjuncts, students, and staff, ensuring accuracy and timely processing.

The role requires strong data analysis, confidentiality, and high-volume payroll experience in a higher education setting. Knowledge of ERP systems and wage/hour regulations is preferred. 29 hours per week, on-site in Tazewell, VA.

Qualifications

• Must maintain confidentiality of payroll and personnel records.
• Able to analyze discrepancies and interpret payroll data.
• Able to perform detailed work with numerical data.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
• Meet payroll deadlines and manage competing priorities; operate a highly technical payroll system.

Responsibilities

• Compile and input data from source documents for biweekly payrolls (adjunct, student, part-time, full-time).
• Reconcile payroll and fringe benefit reporting.
• Prepare part-time wage reports and 1500 hour report.
• Perform quarterly payroll reconciliation.
• Ensure compliance with federal/state payroll regulations and institutional policies.
• Support audits and provide required documentation.
• Maintain compliance with FLSA and wage/hour laws.
• Assist with year-end processes.
• Other duties as assigned.
