Job summary

HCA Healthcare is seeking a Patient Logistic Specialist to support patient disposition and bed management across multiple PLC locations. The role requires coordinating transfers, tracking case progress, and providing timely updates to clinicians and families.

The candidate will help locate resources and ensure smooth admissions and discharges, within a part-time, mixed-shift schedule that includes weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher preferred.
• Prefer experience in an acute care setting (e.g. Hospital Unit Secretary) – highly preferred ED experience.
• Prefer understanding how patient populations move through a hospital setting.
• Prefer experience in Behavioral Health.
• Possess good communication skills, verbal and written.
• Possess good organizational skills and able to handle multiple tasks.
• Proficient and understands medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Respond to phone calls with urgency and strong customer service.
• Gather initial information to open new case/call and prepare clinical information for clinicians.
• Establish and maintain knowledge of facility medical staff, services and programs.
• Locate resources and coordinate information to support patient disposition and admissions.
• Maintain active inventory of bed availability within the community for non-HCA bed placements.
• Accept, track and facilitate hospital transfers and transports telephonically and via computer applications.
• Provide updates to customers on status of patient cases (assessment, bed placement).
• Assist to schedule and prioritize discharge transports and support rapid response to service requests.
