Requires: partial completion of an accredited nursing program, completion of a medical assistant or patient care technician program, and active or substitutable certifications (CMA, RMA, CNA, EMT). BLS and First Responder readiness within timeframes.

Qualifications

• Must have completed first semester in an accredited nursing program.
• Must have completed a medical assistant or patient care technician program.
• A certified clinical medical assistant, CMA, RMA, CNA or EMT may substitute for education requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist RN in delegated direct patient care and sterile/non-sterile procedures.
• Provide safe environment and document patient care and observations.
• Monitor patient condition and report changes to the RN.
• Support ADL activities, weight, height, vitals, and incident documentation.
• Promote infection prevention and adherence to standards of care.
