Stormont Vail Health in Topeka, KS is seeking a Part-time Patient Care Technician to join the care delivery team. The role functions under the direction of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse to provide delegated direct patient care and support for examinations and procedures.

The position emphasizes safety, accuracy in documentation, and collaboration with nursing and provider teams to ensure patient-centered care and continuity of services.

Qualifications

• Successfully completed first semester in an accredited nursing program.
• Successfully completed a medical assistant or patient care technician program.
• Certification substitutions allowed for education requirements (e.g., CMA, CNA, EMT).
• Experience in an office or clinic setting is preferred.

Responsabilités

• Admit patients to exam rooms for office visits and procedures, assisting providers with examinations and procedures.
• Retrieve voicemail messages, record and route to licensed staff; document medical information in the electronic record.
• Coordinate patient services including lab tests, point-of-care testing, X-rays, diagnostics, home care, and admissions; schedule appointments.
• Assist with referrals, prior-authorizations, and benefit investigations.
• Perform point-of-care testing and/or phlebotomy as indicated by work area.
• Maintain cleanliness of equipment, examination and treatment rooms; restock as needed.
