Job summary

Nationwide Children's Hospital is seeking a Patient Care Assistant to support RNs and Care Managers, performing basic nursing support and data collection.

The role involves vital signs collection, safety, prep, documentation, HIPAA compliance, and assisting with patient and family needs; requires CNA certification and CPR.

Shifts include two 8-hour shifts during the week and every other weekend; part-time 16 hours/week.

Qualifications

• Completion of fundamentals course from an approved nursing program, or equivalent certification or experience.
• Active CNA certification in the State of Ohio, or equivalent education or experience.
• Current CPR certification (BLS for healthcare provider).
• One year of patient care experience in a hospital setting within the last three years.

Responsibilities

• Collects, documents, and reports vital signs.
• Promotes general patient safety; helps with positioning and procedures.
• Maintains HIPAA compliance and confidentiality of patient information.
• Ensures environment standards are met; stocks and cleans areas.
• Performs clerical and administrative tasks as necessary.
• Completes continuing education and may train other staff.
