Job summary

Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, OH seeks a contingent Patient Care Assistant to provide basic supportive care under the supervision of an RN or Care Manager. You will collect, document, and report vitals and other data to the healthcare team.

You must hold an Ohio STNA license or equivalent, CPR (BLS) certification, and complete at least two 8-hour shifts per month on Monday–Friday days. Duties include promoting patient safety, preparing materials, and assisting with procedures.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Collects, documents, and reports vital signs and related screening data.
• Promotes patient safety, positions patients, and assists with procedures.
• Maintains unit readiness: stocking, cleaning, and preparing supplies.
• Performs clerical and administrative tasks as needed.
• Completes continuing education and may act as a preceptor/trainer to staff.
• Assists with training or supervision of other staff as assigned.
