Astera Health is hiring a part-time Ancillary Patient Access Representative, primarily based in Wadena, MN. The role requires evenings, nights, rotating weekends and holidays with potential to float to other Patient Access locations to cover needs. Qualifications

• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Understanding of medical terminology preferred.
• Ability to interact professionally with patients and staff.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and visitors and assess their needs in a caring, professional manner.
• Gather demographic and financial information and enter it into the electronic health record to complete registration.
• Schedule appointments and manage provider schedules.
• Operate telephone system and direct calls appropriately.
• Ensure referrals are completed in a timely manner.
• Handle department work queues and determine authorization needs.
• May float to other Patient Access locations as needed.
