Job summary

AdventHealth in Kissimmee, FL is seeking a Part-Time Patient Access and Financial Clearance specialist. You will review schedules, verify insurance, and coordinate with clinical teams to ensure timely patient care.

You will assist with registrations, explain charges, collect payments, and support front-desk operations in a fast-paced healthcare setting. Ideal candidates have 1+ year in customer service within healthcare, familiarity with revenue cycle processes, and strong MS Office skills.

Qualifications

• High School Grad or Equiv [Required]
• Associate degree [Preferred]
• 1+ experience customer service [Required]
• 1+ relevant health care experience [Preferred]
• 1+ direct Patient Access and collections experience [Preferred]
• Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Preferred]
• Proficient with computer systems and MS Office tools
• Bi-lingual is a plus when interacting with patients and families

Responsibilities

• Reviews schedules and verifies patient eligibility and benefits to prevent denials.
• Enter data, monitor reports, and pursue missing documents to meet accuracy targets.
• Coordinate with clinical teams to minimize delays in care and streamline processes.
• Explain charges, payment options, and collect payments at time of service.
• Route calls and visitors to appropriate staff and schedule patients per protocol.
• Assist with patient registrations and ensure correct patient demographics and insurance details.
