Qualifications

• Mature judgment when dealing with patients, physicians and insurance reps.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office and database programs.
• Knowledge of HIPAA privacy rules and ability to handle confidential information.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
• Experience in customer service is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs Medicare compliance reviews and issues ABN as needed.
• Creates estimates for patient financial responsibility and collects payments or sets up plans.
• Coordinates with utilization management for pre-authorization and logistics.
• Verifies insurance eligibility and obtains pre-authorizations within timeframes.
• Registers patients accurately and minimizes duplication of records.
• Communicates between clinical, ancillary, and access departments to enhance patient experience.
