Qualifications

• Bachelor-level education not required; high school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 1+ year of customer service experience; 1+ year revenue cycle exposure preferred.
• Knowledge of healthcare insurance processes and eligibility checks helpful.
• Basic medical terminology understood and used in daily tasks.

Responsibilities

• Maintain relationships with clinical partners to ensure open communication and prompt patient service.
• Arrange relief coverage during extended time away from registration area.
• Contact insurance companies to verify eligibility and benefits before scheduled appointments.
• Register patients by obtaining demographic information and ensuring accuracy.
• Perform Medicare eligibility checks and Medicare Secondary Payer questionnaires.
• Ensure correct payer plans and update eligibility and benefits in patient accounts.
• Create accurate estimates to maximize upfront cash collections and coordinate with case management as needed.
• Process invoices and maintain documentation for payment.
• Document all conversations with patients and insurance representatives.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
