Job summary

Northwell Health’s affiliated facility in Rhinebeck seeks a part-time Patient Access representative. You will greet patients, register, verify eligibility, schedule appointments, and collect patient payments. Flexibility includes weekends and evenings as needed.

Qualifications

• Education: Required HS Diploma with minimum of 2 years job related experience.
• Associate degree with 6 months job-related experience - Preferred.
• Minimum Experience of 1 year preferred in a job-related experience.
• Basic MS Word & MS Excel.
• Customer Service and organizational skills.
• NAHAM certification within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Greeting patients and/or physicians, staff, and guests promptly and professionally.
• Check patients into the system and provide direction based on appointment location and counseling status.
• Respond to telephone calls; provide information and improve call metrics where applicable.
• Search and select patient within the hospital system to ensure accurate identification.
• Schedule and register appointments following protocol of scheduling systems.
• Enter demographic and financial information to secure payment for services rendered.
• Verify insurance eligibility and handle payor requirements as needed.
• Provide estimates for services and communicate patient liability.
