Qualifications

• Minimum typing speed of 50 wpm and strong data-entry accuracy.
• Flexibility to work a part-time schedule including weekends.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and HIPAA compliance.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 6 months in healthcare or 1 year in customer service preferred.
• Ability to read and understand instructions and to communicate clearly.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and answer the phone in a courteous manner.
• Register patients, verify demographics and insurance information.
• Collect copays and explain billing procedures at point of service.
• Enter data into the electronic health record and ensure accuracy.
• Direct patients and provide wayfinding and general information.
