Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of customer service experience.
• Healthcare, hospital, ED, urgent care, physician practice, or medical office experience preferred.
• Experience with patient registration, insurance verification, or EMR/EHR.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and visitors in person and over the phone.
• Register new patients and update demographics, insurance, and billing information.
• Verify insurance eligibility and collect copays and payments per guidelines.
• Facilitate patient flow by notifying staff of arrivals and delays.
• Answer phones and route calls, taking messages as needed.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
• Perform clerical tasks: copying, scanning, faxing, filing.
