Job summary

UnitedHealth Group in Faribault, MN is hiring a Part-Time Patient Access Representative Associate. You will be the first contact for patients, aiding registration, insurance verification, and financial counseling while ensuring a compassionate, efficient experience.

You’ll support scheduling, handle inquiries and data entry, and work with a team dedicated to accessible care and health equity. The role includes a $1,500 external sign-on bonus and a typical daytime/shift pattern.

Qualifications

• 6+ months of customer service experience.
• Ability to work standard daytime hours, Monday - Friday for the first 3 weeks after hire in alignment with the training schedule.
• Ability to work both day and evening shifts weekly (start times vary) per business need.
• Ability to work holidays and weekends.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.

Responsibilities

• Greets and welcomes patients in person, directing them to appointments and procedures.
• Collects and verifies demographic, insurance, and benefits information and obtains necessary signatures.
• Checks in and interviews patients to complete required paperwork including financial assistance forms.
• Obtains and explains cost information, collects co-pays and deductibles, and counsels on financial assistance programs.
• Resolves claim issues or registration errors and documents resolutions in the EMR.
• Provides customer service for inbound and outbound calls and assists in scheduling add-on appointments.
