Job summary

City of Alameda in Alameda, California, is seeking a part-time Parking Enforcement Technician to help enforce local parking regulations. Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Patrol an assigned area to observe vehicles in violation of parking regulations.
• Operate ALPR-equipped vehicle systems.
• Track vehicles to verify time limits and restrictions.
• Issue citations and warnings as required.
• Explain parking laws to the public and respond to complaints.
• Maintain accurate records of work and surveillance.
• Notify Police of public safety concerns or incidents.
• Report malfunctioning meters, faded curb paint, vandalized signs.
• Inspect and maintain enforcement vehicles; arrange repairs.
• Provide testimony on City's behalf for contested citations.
• Answer public inquiries at the front desk.
• Assist in surveys of parking facilities and on-street occupancy studies.
• Perform related duties as assigned.
