Job summary

The Town of Natick is seeking a part-time Parking Enforcement Officer to patrol assigned areas, enforce parking regulations, and promote compliance with local ordinances. This position is up to 30 hours per week, with Saturdays required.

You will issue citations, maintain records, and coordinate with the Traffic Division to ensure safe streets for residents and visitors. This role requires strong communication, careful judgment, and the ability to work outdoors in varying conditions while

Qualifications

• Valid Massachusetts driver’s license is required.
• Ability to walk long distances daily and pass a physical examination.
• Must pass CORI check and background investigation.
• Solid understanding of parking regulations and the ability to explain them clearly to the public.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Professional, courteous demeanor when interacting with the public.

Responsibilities

• Patrol designated areas on foot or by vehicle.
• Issue parking citations and warnings using a handheld device.
• Maintain records of violations.
• Communicate with Police Department using two-way radio or cell phone.
• Respond to parking complaints and related concerns.
• Coordinate with Traffic Division on ticketing decisions.
• Report damaged meters or signage.
• Maintain assigned equipment and devices.
• Answer public inquiries politely and helpfully.
• Operate a Town vehicle when required.
• Perform related duties as assigned.
