Job summary

The Borough of Somerville seeks qualified applicants for part-time and full-time Parking Enforcement Officer positions. Availability includes late evenings Monday through Friday, with weekend opportunities. Work is outdoors in varying weather and requires walking for extended periods.

A municipal vehicle will be provided. The successful candidate will operate a handheld parking enforcement device and a cellular or two-way communication device.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid New Jersey driver’s license with an excellent driving record.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English clearly.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to operate a handheld enforcement device and a cellular or two-way communication device.
• Successful completion of a criminal background check.
• Bilingual skills and prior related experience are a plus.
