Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a part-time perioperative support role for a weekend overnight shift (7:00pm–7:00am, 24 hours per week). Responsibilities include assisting in operating room setup, stocking sterile supplies, patient shading/prep, and transporting patients, specimens, and equipment.

Under Charge RN supervision, you will help maintain room readiness, support the surgical team, and ensure safety and infection-control standards are met.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to be trained to organizational standards.
• Apply critical thinking to daily planning, case prep and safety.
• Proficiency in reading and writing English to perform essential functions.

Responsibilities

• Assist in transfer and positioning of surgical patients from other units.
• Clean and restock operating rooms and equipment between cases.
• Prepare skin and assist with anesthesia as needed.
• Transport specimens and supplies as required by LHMC policy.
• Deliver blood products and inform front desk of returns.
• Set up the surgical room and assist the team with equipment needs.
• Operate equipment safely and report issues to the Charge RN.
• Uphold infection prevention and contamination controls.
• Maintain day-to-day supplies and participate in quality improvement.
• Complete mandatory education and perform other duties as needed.
